Sony Interactive Entertainment on Wednesday announced that it will discontinue physical game disc production for all new games releasing on PlayStation consoles starting January 2028. As per the company, new PlayStation titles for the PS5 and potentially the PS6 will only be available digitally through the PlayStation Store and participating retailers once the transition is complete.
