Image
Like every year, Apple will be launching their latest iPhone in autumn or fall as the Americans like to call it. The launch event is scheduled to take place sometime in September or early October. However, Apple won’t be only launching the iPhone. Instead, they will be launching a hoard of devices. To be precise, Apple is planning to launch four new iPhone 14s , a set of new iPads, three Apple Watches, several M2 / M3-upgraded Macs, and a pair of refreshed AirPods Pro buds, a new HomePod, and an upgraded Apple TV model. Although Apple has already announced 2 new Macs that will feature its latest flagship M2 processor at the WWDC, it also plans to launch several new Macs with a number of variations of the M2 processor.  This includes an M2 Mac Mini, an M2 Pro Mac Mini, an M2 Pro or an M2 Max 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, as well as an M2 Ultra or an M2 Extreme Mac Pro. Motorola to launch The Frontier, a 200MP camera smartphone next month, with 125W fast charging

Image
Motorola is launching their flagship device, aptly called “The Frontier” sometime next month. Having focused on budget and mid-range phones for years now, Motorola is hoping that their upcoming flagship, the Frontier will go a long way to help re-establish the brand as a player with serious chops. We had earlier reported that the upcoming Motorola Frontier would feature the world’s first smartphone camera sensor with 200MP , and actually beat Samsung. Motorola Frontier is reportedly using Samsung’s ISOCELL HP1 sensor for its main camera. It will also feature the 50MP ISOCELL JN1 and 12MP Sony IMX663 as secondary and tertiary sensors. Samsung ISOCELL HP1 uses the ChameleconCell pixel-binning tech that effectively turns a block of 16 pixels into one pixel when shooting in low light conditions. This means that when utilising the tech, the 200-megapixel sensor will actually create 12.5-megapixel images. Shooting in daylight or in well-lit conditions should give you full 200MPs to play

Oppo K10 5G review: A solid performer, with a major Achilles' heel

Image
Pros - Great design and solid build. - Phenomenal battery backup. - Great value for money. - Inclusion of 3.5 mm headphone jack, microSDXC card slot. - 90Hz display. - Great camera for the price point. Cons - Resolution of the display. - Video for both front and rear cameras limited to 1080p @30 FPS. - 8MP front-facing camera seems antiquated for 2022. Summary Oppo has a solid winner in their hands in the form of the K10 5G. Yes, there are a few issues, mainly with the resolution of the display, but the K10 5G more than makes up for them in other vital areas. All in all, this is a device that provides great value for money. Price: Rs 17,499 When we learnt that Oppo was offering the K10 5G in China with the Dimensity 8000 SoC but in India, it would be shipped with the Dimensity 810 SoC, we were a little disheartened. However, having tried the device and considering the price point at which Oppo has positioned the K10 5G in India, we were impressed.  The Oppo K10 5G is a

Best phones under Rs 60,000 (June 2022): Apple iPhone 12, Realme GT 2 Pro to OnePlus 9 Pro

Image
You don’t get a big churn in this segment every three months barring change in prices and availability of higher capacity variants in this budget. That’s exactly what we have here as compared to our list of phones under Rs 60,000 from last quarter. Of course, we have a couple of new entrants too to spice things up. While the 256 GB variants of several phones are available in this budget, their 128 GB storage variants offer better value for money in a few cases. Hence we have listed both. There’s ample power, style and photography chops on offer in these half a dozen handsets. Which one would you choose? Best phones to buy under Rs 60,000 in India Apple iPhone 12 The 128 GB storage variant of the Apple iPhone 12 is still available under Rs 60,000, and that makes it arguably the best value for money iPhone around. The iPhone 12 feels great in hand and has the perfect size for single handed operation. Its 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen is compliant with HDR10 and Dolby Vision, a

Realme Pad Mini Review: An affordable tablet for basic tasks

Image
Rating: 3.5/5   Price: Rs 10,999 onwards Pros: - Good build quality, elegant design - LTE option, expandable storage up to 1 TB - Loud stereo sound output - Robust battery backup - Affordable Cons: - Low-resolution display feels dull at times - Performance stutters under load - Below par camera output - Slow charging Realme Pad was a good debut tablet from the company offering a large high-res display, decent processing power and an elegant design. The Mini variant of the same that we have for review today is expectedly more compact and strives to be more affordable while retaining certain key attributes . Does it succeed or ends up cutting a corner too many to get there? Let’s figure it out. Realme Pad Mini: Design Despite being more affordable, the Mini looks as elegant as the Realme Pad. Though you don’t get the Champagne Gold back on the Realme Pad Mini, the metallic grey aluminium unibody does look good. It is comparatively thicker, but 7.6 mm is slim enough for a

While carrying out one of its regular scheduled inspections of Mars’ surface, NASA's Perseverance rover recently spotted landing debris caught in a jagged rock. A few months ago, WhatsApp introduced the ability to move entire chat histories from iPhone to Android. Mark Zuckerberg has now announced that from now on transferring WhatsApp data from an Android phone to an iPhone will also be a possibility, with users getting the option to photos, videos, and voice messages as well, when they upgrade handsets.   There are some requirements that need to be met in order to get this done. The Android phone should be running Android 5 Lollipop at the very least, while the iPhone should be running on at least iOS 15.5 for the transfer to work, using the Move to iOS app. Furthermore, the Android phone must be running build number 2.22.7.74 or higher of WhatsApp, while the iOS version should be on version 2.22.10.70 of the app. Another crucial step is that the iPhone has to be new, or should have been factory reset for the Move to iOS app to do its job.  Finally, both the phones should be connected to a power source while the transfer is happening
